All of our drivers are experienced, helpful and most of all pleasant company. He will also do the game drives in the parks. The cost of hiring a driver is $45 / day – this also covers his meals and accommodation. You don’t need to arrange accomodation for him, as the lodges have facilities for the driver-guides. When you travel into a national park with a driver, you will also have to pay their entrance fee of $3 to 4 / day, depending on the park.
The driver is responsible for the wellbeing of the car, and the security bond will no longer apply.
If you’re taking a driver with you into the national parks, the Tanzania National Parks Authority requires you to have your entrance permits paid in advance, so you won’t be able to just decide on the fly.

Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara NP is a small park at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. Its groundwater forest offers a nice change of scenery from the more savannah-dominated parks. Although the park is known for tree-climbing lions, big cats aren’t that easily seen. Elephant are prolific and are the main attraction.
Watching wildlife in Lake Manyara National Park is good all year, but at its best from late June to October, during the Dry season. However, this very scenic park is at its most beautiful during the Wet season, from November to May, when the vegetation is lush and waterfalls cascade down the escarpment.
The climate in Lake Manyara NP is mild and temperate. Average temperatures are consistent throughout the year. It is very rarely hot enough to be uncomfortable, but it is almost always cold during the evening and early morning. Taking warm clothing along on early morning game drives is recommended.
